Košice — evening

In the evening I ventured out for vittles. I had read of this cafe called Soup Culture which served it in an innovative container, a cup made of bread, thus no waste except for the paper bag around the cup. My first choice of soup, possibly potato, was sold out, so I settled for zucchini soup. It was very good. I finished it on a bench outside the cafe. There was a line of people waiting to order so I'd say the owner was doing good business.
The Singing Fountain, more attractive in the dusk light.
St. Elizabeth's Cathedral, floodlit.
A side view, from a side street.
Detail of the side.

Another great view.
As the soup was just a starter for dinner, I ended up having Vietnamese rice rolls in the Aupark shopping centre at the end of the main street. I found the quality of Vietnamese cuisine in Czechia and Slovakia fairly decent. It's possible that those people had migrated here long ago.
To finish off the evening I had a coffee and cake from the Aida cafe which I had spotted in passing on the main drag.

I had a good time in Košice like with Olomouc a few days ago. Second fiddle cities are often excellent choices. They don't have the crowds of the capital city but can have equally good sights and experiences, with a calmer pace of life.
