Košice — morning

The hotel room I got had an interesting arrangement. Behind the entrance door was a common area with a TV and sofa and the toilet and shower, then two separate twin bed rooms. Perhaps for business groups on the same trip, or two couples. In any case the left hand side room was empty so I had the common areas all to myself.

After a breakfast with a lot of choice I decided to explore the areas off the main drag. This is the Mikluš prison, now a museum. I wasn't looking for it, just passed it.
This is the Premonštrátske gymnázium, a high school. I just thought the facade interesting.
Back on the main drag, Parfuméria Schwarz was housed in an interesting building.
The tourist guide, which I was using at the time, said something about this being a former merchant's house, and to note the mullions. On Maps I can only find BigPizza.
The Slávia restaurant next door.

The Old Town Hall.
Darting into the back streets I located the synagogue on Pushkin Street which is a reconstruction of the original from the late 1930s.
At this point I decided to break for lunch. I headed for the Med Malina, reputed to serve Slovak cuisine. This is a schnitzel of sorts. The glass contains a berry drink made with real fruit. I enjoyed these drinks whenever I encountered them in Czechia or Slovakia.
