I then visited Letná Park, which is on high ground overlooking the centre of the old town to the south. It's a favourite ground for outdoor sports such as cycling or jogging.
Looking over Štefanik Bridge with the tram tracks running down the middle.
A telephoto shot of Church of Our Lady before Týn in the old town.
I descended the stairs of the embankment heading towards the bridge.
I waited for a tram to come along to get this photo. At the head of the T junction is where I descended.
The eastward bend of the Vltava and Prague Castle in the background.
I don't think I caught this tram 15 service. It's only a couple of hundred metres walk to the Old Town Square. The first time I came by I didn't view the square as I was interested in the Astronomical Clock.
The Jan Hus Memorial is in the square.
I think this is the National Gallery Prague.
Probably the Stone Bell House with Our Lady at the back.
There were always people milling around the square. I imagine it must be more crowded in high season.
I decided I needed to try one of the chocolate filled trdelniks from a recommended store. Here's what I ate. Very addictive.
Another quick look at the Charles Bridge on the way home.
This time I crossed the Vltava at Legion Bridge. There is a small fluvial island in the middle and I descended to have a quick squiz.
There are walking paths on the island. Must be a pleasant retreat for city residents.
Not sure where, but the shadows suggest that this is the western side of the island looking upriver (south).
There are no more pictures on this day. Generally I had a meal in the evening, and perhaps did some supermarket shopping at Nový Smíchov Shopping Centre before retiring early due to recovering from jet lag.
