Last day in Prague. Off to Český Krumlov tomorrow. Time to mop up the remaining sights I hadn't seen yet. I decided to start off with Wallenstein Palace. Today the Czech Senate uses the palace but the gardens are open to the public. Actually this photo is about 5 minutes walk inside the grounds and shows the garden lake and the main hall in the distance.
Gold carp in the lake.
Some waterfowl.
The Italian gardens with rows of statues leading up the the main wing.
A closer view.
Peafowl have the run of the grounds.
A fluffed up specimen.
Probably the same one a few minutes later.
Let's not forget the ladies.
Visitors tried to communicate with them.
Some were reticent.
Fountain in a corner of the garden. The palace grounds is a bit irregular in shape so there is variety in the landscaping.
There is a fake stalactite grotto with hidden animals and grotesque faces.
And a nearby fish fountain.
Just a few minutes walk away is Vojanovy sady which is a city park, more natural than the first.
Clumps of plants.
Some fantastic looking wood sculptures.
Almost like they live here.
Even the walls look fantastic.
There are also peafowl here, of a different shade.
But also common corvids.
All in all it was relaxing, but now it was time to start looking for lunch.
